Waterford Rose Does Us Proud

Well done to Waterford Rose entry in this years Rose of Tralee,  Kirsten Mate Maher played a blinder on stage last night in what is now one of the most famous competitions in the world.
In a brilliant interview Kirsten talked about how important that we embrace diversity and how we should all see each other for who we are and not the colour of our skin or our religion.

As Kirsten says “There’s different types of people everywhere and I suppose that I represent all those people.”

21 year old Kirsten  from Bigwood, Mullinavat is a member of the Island of Ireland peace choir which was set up in the wake of the Omagh Bombing in 1998.  She also plays hockey and plays for Waterford in the munster devision 1 league.  She loves animals and horse riding has been a part of her life since she was 5 years old. In September Kirsten is planning on study Multimedia at WIT


Kirsten is currently at 7/4 (at time of publishing) with Paddy Power to be Rose of Tralee 2018
