Waterford Film Festival Announces New Sponsor

The Waterford Film Festival which is running between Fri 30 November – Sun 2 December is delighted to announce  our newest sponsor, The Book Centre Waterford!

The Book Centre has been in business since 1971 and is a family owned and run local Irish Company.  Their stores are located Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and Naas, Ireland.

They  offer a large range of books, children’s books, school books, magazines, greeting cards, gifts, and stationery. There is an in-store Cafe in all their shops where their customers can relax and browse the latest books.

 The Book Centre building in Waterford has an interesting local cinema history background.

The Waterford Store is located in Waterford City, and is housed in the old Art Deco styled Savoy Cinema which was built in 1937.

The screen, stage, ceiling and many other cinema features can still be seen on a visit to the store.

Speaking about their newest sponsor to support  the 2018 Waterford Film Festival, Festival Director Stephen Byrne said;

“I am delighted to have the Book Centre come on board as a sponsor.  It is fantastic to have a local and family owned business that is apart of  the Waterford Community for over 4 decades.
The fact that the Waterford Building has a history of Cinema is extra special to us to be associated with and we are very grateful for their support.”

The festival is currently OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS for their SHORT FILM and SHORT SCREENPLAY competition. For more information please go to www.waterfordfilmfestival.net  or https://filmfreeway.com/WaterfordFilmFestival
