Summer Fair at Mount Congreve a great Success!
Fun, families, food and fauna, mix all these together and you have, what sums up, the Summer Fair at Mount Congreve on Sunday the 17th of July! Thousands flocked to the world famous gardens over the weekend for Mount Congreve’s first Summer Fair. With lots of activities for kids including a treasure hunt which was a great way to explore the over 70 acres of gardens and 16 kilometres of paths, designed and planted by Ambrose Congreve, Mount Congreve is a real jewel in the crown of Waterford gardens.
Summer fairs and festivals always attract some of the best artisan food producers that we have here in Waterford and visitors were spoiled for choice with the smells and aromas of freshly made food, a heaven for all food lovers. Bouncy castles, balloon model making, face painting, archery, wood carving, fairy craft painting and so much more were on offer and tours of the gardens went down a treat.
The Mount Congreve Summer Fair teamed up with Focus Ireland a charity that does so much work in Waterford and indeed Ireland.
If you have never visited Mount Congreve then you are in for a real treat! The gardens are open every Thursday to Sunday & bank holiday Mondays from 11 am to 5.30 pm, last entry to the gardens at 4.30 pm.
The entry fee per adult is €5; children under 12 enter free but must be accompanied by an adult.
Due to the nature of the gardens, no dogs other than registered guide dogs are permitted.
