The Spraoi 2018 festival is taking place this year from the 3rd to the 5th of August. An array of international street artists, performers and musicians will be performing all over Waterford City’s narrow medieval streets, squares, quays and Waterford’s historic buildings and surroundings will provide an atmospheric backdrop to all the amazing acts for the 3 days……street entertainment for all the family at its very best and it’s FREE!!!!!

Remember if you can’t make it to Waterford this weekend then we will be live streaming throughout the weekend thanks to our partners Rapid Cabs and The Granville Hotel.  We will also be live streaming the Spraoi Parade and Fireworks on Sunday evening.

The Festival, devoted to Street Art has become a firm favourite among locals and tourists alike and attracts an over 100,000 people to Waterford City over its three days. So much so, that there is no longer an August Bank Holiday Weekend in Waterford, it’s now better known locally as “The Spraoi Weekend”!!

Music is synonymous with the Spraoi Festival.  There’s always something for everyone, young and old alike and that’s what makes the array of music at Spraoi so special! Sounds from around the globe reverberate on every street, square and corner. There’s so much variety and  so many locations where you can enjoy the music programme at Spraoi, including the George’s Court Stage located in John Roberts Square, The Resonate Stage in Bailey’s New Street, the Hop House 13 Rhythm Route, the Sanofi Spraoi OrchestraThe Old Silkstone BandJazz Jam Session,  Brass Street BeatCity of Waterford Brass – Movie MagicUpRoar Rock Chorus,, The Royal British Legion Brass Band Christchurch, The Big Bang, The Barrack Street Concert Band and Microguagua.

“Bugs” is the theme for this year’s 26th Spraoi Parade.
Spraoi look under the magnifying glass and take inspiration from swarms, colonies, webs and hives. Be prepared for their collection of BUGS to hit the streets. Watch them fly, scurry, jump and crawl as Spraoi unleash all manner of creepy crawly creatures.
Yet again Spraoi bring together a multitude of fantastic construction artists, musicians, dancers and performers to the streets and quays of Waterford City. Spraoi welcome you to come see this magical spectacle if you dare!!!
The Spraoi Parade is now a landmark cultural event, one of the largest outdoor arts events in Ireland and Europe. It’s mesmerising, astonishing, exciting, a combination of giant creations, props and over 300 costumed performers. It’s a feast for all the senses. Come to Waterford City Sunday evening August 5th for the world class Spraoi Parade, which begins at 9.30pm, for a truly amazing and unforgettable experience!!
Pyrofantasia will be an awesome conclusion to this years Spraoi International Street Arts Festival 2018!!

Now in its 19th year SprÓg continues to be the best fun in Waterford for children and their families in the week before Waterford Spraoi, and on Spraoi weekend, generously supported by Sanofi  & Calmast working together with the Science Outreach Centre at WIT. There are workshops all week and over Spraoi festival weekend too. Many events are free, so pre-booking is essential to avoid any disappointment or tears!
