Muldoon Irish Whiskey Liqueur rated in top 3 at Whisky Live London
Waterford’s Muldoon Irish Whiskey Liqueur was given the thumbs up in London recently where it was rated among the top three 
products at Whisky Live London. Run over two days, the annual sell out event is considered the world’s premier tasting show. With master classes, food and whiskey combinations and VIP pourings, Whisky Live London attracts visitors, trade and press from around the globe. This was the first year that Muldoon attended having been part of the inaugural Whisky Live Dublin at the Mansion House last October.
Nichola Beresford, Director of Blackwater Irish Spirits Limited, makers of Muldoon, said, “We were just delighted to be part of such a prestigious event. To be there at all was gratifying given that we are such a new brand. Once again the response was fantastic and now the news that we were among the top three products at the show – well we’re obviously thrilled.”
Muldoon Irish Whiskey Liqueur has just entered its second year of trading and is gaining quite the following. It took the Gold Medal in the liqueur category at the Irish Whiskey Awards announced at the end of 2014 against some very stiff competition.
Although a liqueur, Muldoon is based on an old County Waterford recipe for sweet whiskey that uses Irish whiskey infused with toffee and hazelnut. It is often described as ‘a Crunchie in a glass’ as the honeycomb nose is reminiscent of the popular Cadbury’s chocolate bar.
Muldoon is a very versatile drink and while it is enjoyed as an after dinner digestif it is also a great cocktail ingredient. With the summer approaching pairing it with ginger ale and freshly squeezed lime over ice for an easy long drink is ideal.
