Garter Lane Arts Centre


Garter lane Theatre is located at O’Connell Street in what was once the Quaker meeting house that was built in 1792.

Now 30 years in existence the Theatre offers an vibrant, exciting and ever changing programme throughout the year that has something for everyone. From theatre, dance, music, film, visual arts and childrens art Garter Lane is well worth a visit. The name Garter Lane is derived from an old lane, that was in the area of now John Roberts Square, that no longer in existence.

Garter Lane includes a wide range in its festival programmes for Waterford New Music Week, Waterford Writers’ Weekend, Waterford Festival of Architecture, Bealtaine Festival celebrating creativity as we age, sprOg, the pre-Spraoi festival for children and their families, Waterford Harvest Festival, the Waterford arts festival Imagine and Winterval. A true gem in the heart of Waterford for the arts.
