Looking for adventure on A Weekend In Waterford?

The Waterford coast line is nothing short of amazing and the UNESCO Copper Coast is a trip that you simply have to put on your bucket list.  Sailing, surfing, fishing, swimming, diving, kayaking and so much more and if you are new to the coast then there are ample adventure centres all along the coast that will help you have a memorable stay in Waterford.  Visit the coastal villages and towns of Cheekpoint, Passage East, Woodstown, Dunmore East, Tramore,  Annestown, Boatstrand, Bonmahon and Stradbally or one of the many coves along the way, right up to Dungarvan and Ardmore.
Hiking is after becoming a popular past time and the Comeragh Mountains have so many tracks and trails that you will be blown away by the scenery.  If it’s a guided tour you are looking for then we have you covered here too.  There are also cycling tours available and with the Waterford Green Way, which is a 45km greenway stretching from Waterford City to Dungarvan, our advice is to get on your bike and explore the breathtaking beauty that surrounds us here in the sunny south east.

On part of the greenway the Waterford and Suir Valley Railway run trips everyday through the Suir Valley and is always a hit with the kids.  If the kids are looking for something to do then there are activity centres like Run Amok Pirates Adventure Centre, Activate that they will just love.  A visit to one of our mini farms in Fenor and Stradbally is always a hit with the kids.  If it’s horse riding that you are into than one of our many Horse Riding Schools will be happy to accommodate you.  Every Friday and Saturday night there is Greyhound racing at Kilcohan which is always a way to have fun with the whole family.  Family and group offers are very reasonable.  And not to forget a visit to Tramore races is always something special.

Gardens that are well worth a visit on A Weekend In Waterford

You cannot visit Waterford without visiting one of our many fantastic gardens like Mount Congreve or Lafcadio Hearn Gardens in Tramore.  Curraghmore Estate in Portlaw is well worth a visit, boasting Irelands largest court yard and an utterly unique “Shell House”.  Check out the Waterford Garden Trail for more information.
